Hello world.
It has been a long weekend�not very relaxing�just long.
My little brother survived his surgery just fine, and now has 2 weeks of not being able to sit down ahead of him. And of course not being able to sit, means no school for him. Fortunately his teachers are sending plenty of work home for him so he does not fall behind. He of course is not as pleased by this as I am. But oh well�one day he will understand and appreciate it.
I also went to the doctors today to get my knee looked at. Sigh�I have an appointment with a specialist Thursday to see about getting fitted for a brace. Seems like I have managed to hurt it worse that I had thought. Granted it is nothing that a few months in a knee brace won�t fix. And for that I should be happy�Granted I get to gimp around for another 3 days before I see this specialist�but hey it has already been 7�what�s 3 more right?
This weekend was also the Annual Halloween Party at Ox�s place. I had a pretty good time for the most part, but it managed to really drive home how much older I am than many of my friends friends. There I was surrounded by lots of very pretty single young women�who were all the same age as my little sister (or close to it). It is amazing what types of priorities a person 10 years your junior has. I can tell ya, they certainly do not coincide with any of mine. Ugh�So in and among taking care of the �kids� that had drunk way too much, I got to spend some time chatting with old friends, which made the trip worth while.
Guess that this is all yall are going to get today�I am just not in the mood to write. Call me depressed or what you will, but the thoughts that are going through my head today are for me and me alone�mostly. Perhaps tomorrow I will have sorted enough to explain what is on my mind.
Today I learned that the average piece of Viking pattern welded steel had between 6 and 14 layers. Quite a difference from the Japanese who had hundreds�
